Baked Feta Trend Recipe

Okay, so if there is one thing that changed about me from 2020 it is that I spend too much time watching reels on Instagram. I do make my own reels sometimes, though I find it tedious. They remind me of vines (do you remember those??) and those always had me laughing out loud! Reels can be informative and/or funny and I am HERE for them. I did download Tik Tok one time and decided I did not need one more app keeping me engaged in my phone and not here. Do you prefer one over the other? Reels vs Tik Tok?

I digress! One thing I really enjoy watching are popular/trendy recipes or food ideas that pop up. As a recipe developer, it helps to see what others are doing. But funny story about this trend! I was searching for feta in the grocery store and the clerk said I was the tenth person looking for blocks of feta that day. I thought that was odd until I went on reels later and realized EVERYONE was making a baked feta recipe.

Baked Feta & Tomato Pesto Dip

  • 1 block feta plain or tomato, basil flavor
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup pesto sauce truly just a big ol spoonful but you can measure it if you like
  • Baguette, pita chips, or cooked pasta Use whatever you like for dipping or add cooked pasta for a complete dinner option


  • Get your baking dish whether it's an 8×8 cake pan or a cute pie pan/casserole pan, either will work! Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F
  • Add the tomatoes and 1 tbsp of olive oil to your dish. Move the tomatoes around to coat them in the olive oil
  • Cut your block of feta in half and put it in the middle of your pan moving the tomatoes to the sides
  • Take your pesto and layer that on top of the feta and a little on the tomatoes too
  • Bake at 400 for 30 minutes then turn your oven up to 450 (do not remove the dish yet) and let it cook as the oven gets hotter for another 10 minutes
  • Remove from the oven, stir your melty, sizzling dip together and serve with a baguette, pita chips, or cooked pasta.

I hope you try it out for your next Friday night or event that you have coming up! I actually tried this as a dip with sliced apples and it was delicious. I love sweet and tangy/salty mixed together so it worked for me. Have an awesome rest of your Wednesdays!
