Hello, families! Welcome or welcome back. I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a culinary registered dietitian and mama of two amazing and hungry children. I love translating health benefits into delicious meals and creating excitement around cooking food and meal planning for families while boosting confidence in the kitchen for everyone. I’ve taught over 1000 individual and group cooking classes.
Why Family Culinary Nutrition?
In a society where our food landscape is overwhelming, constantly changing and the pressure to cook from scratch is high…my goal is to simplify the process and make it enjoyable for everyone, no matter their cooking experience. I also feel extremely passionate about empowering families to get everyone involved in the kitchen.
Who Am I Here For?
As a mom of two hungry littles, I get how overwhelming it can feel to put food on the table three times (plus a million snacks) a day. The meals start to blur together, you throw away expired food you forgot to use and your budget gets a lot tighter. You want to cook well for your family so that everyone has variety and nourishment, but that is easier said than done.

When it comes to helping parents learn how to cook for themselves and their families, I am all in. I’m strongly motivated by the belief that cooking should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their backgrounds. It is my mission to break down any barriers that block families from making the journey into the kitchen an enjoyable experience.
I believe that cooking our own family meals (without restrictive diet culture mentalities) allows us to improve our connection with the food we eat. As an anti diet nutritionist in the kitchen, I’ve witnessed firsthand how gaining confidence in the kitchen can lead to delicious meals and pave the way for a happy and healthy life.
I’ll never forget a family cooking class I taught back in 2015, when a young boy told me how much fun he had in the class. His parents felt as though they didn’t have time to teach him to cook and he was not comfortable asking them to teach him. He wrote this in his survey:
I was so moved and I have saved that comment to remind me everyday why I do what I do. It represents that sense of inclusion, comfort, and fun I aim to put into my work every single day. Cooking is for everyone and every family deserves the support to make it happen.
I hope to join you in your kitchen soon and see what we can come up with together.
My Registered Dietitian Credentials
I became a registered dietitian in 2013, got my Masters degree in nutrition in 2015, and have been teaching cooking classes since. I taught Cooking Matters for four years in my local community and even when I worked for a rehabilitation hospital I brought in cooking demonstrations and classes whenever I could.
As a registered dietitian I completed at least 1,200 hours of supervised practice through an accredited internship program, and passed a national registration exam.
As dietitians, we also complete 75 hours of continuing education every 5 years to keep on top of current topics and maintain our credentials.
