As a mom of two, these Halloween Energy Balls work seamlessly into moments that demand both sustenance and satisfaction. I enjoy them as a mid-morning pick-me-up, accompanying my cup of coffee as I dive into work after child care drop off.

They also make a great go-to snack during the afternoon hustle to combat the post-lunch slump. Whether you’re unwinding with a good book, chasing a toddler, or catching up on your favorite series, these no bake halloween snacks add a touch of festive joy.

Ingredients for Halloween Energy Balls

Delight your taste buds and nourish your body simultaneously with these Halloween Energy Balls, a concoction of candy corn, unsalted peanuts, peanut butter, rolled oats, and flax meal.

  • Candy corn: Everyone has half a cup of candy corn to use up right? This adds a bit of sweetness without overpowering the overall nutritional value.
  • Unsalted peanuts: Peanuts add an amount of healthy fats and a bit of protein too. This helps provide long term energy. You can swap in salted or roasted peanuts if you choose.
  • Peanut butter: Peanut butter is the glue of the Halloween Energy Balls and also provides healthy fats and protein. Almond butter is another good alternative.
  • Rolled or quick oats: Adding this whole grain will help with increasing your fiber consumption and provide lasting satisfaction.
  • Flax meal: Ground up flax seeds (do not use just the seeds!) is an excellent way to add more fiber to balance out these bites. The bonus is additional healthy fats.

You can find most if not all of these ingredients at your local grocery store. I shop at Aldi and can get these ingredients easily. Candy corn is of course, seasonal, but can also be ordered when needed.

Why Choose Halloween Energy Balls?

Whether you’re enjoying these during the busy fall season or you found leftover candy corn a few months later that you don’t want to waste, these energy boosters taste great and are a fun snack to make for yourself and your family.

No bake Halloween snacks are an excellent way to get your kids involved in the kitchen as well. Kids often try to taste ingredients as they go into mixing bowls and with this mix, there’s nothing to worry about.

Not only that, but these combine a blend of nutrients that will leave you all satisfied and energized until your next meal. Their festive touch helps create excitement around snack time. What family wouldn’t love that?

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Measure all ingredients. This is a great way to involve your kid and allow them to practice scooping and pouring.
  2. Put all ingredients in your food processor and blend until the consistency is moist.

That’s it! They are so easy to make. If you don’t have a food processor, you could chop everything extremely fine and stir it together with the peanut butter after. As noted above in the ingredients section, you can make some variations of these using different candy, nuts, or nut butters.

Swapping ingredients is always fun, be sure to let me know if you try any other variations in the comments or over on Instagram. Tag me at @The.Kitchen.Invitation. Better yet, hop over to my free Facebook group for parents who want to cook with and for their family without the stress.

Variations – Halloween Energy Balls No Nuts

I get it, there are lots of people with food allergies or schools that need to restrict common allergens from entering the building. If you need to make substitutions for this recipe, here is what you can try.

Use sunflower butter instead of peanut or almond butter. You’ll gain a similar consistency and the taste and nutritional profile is still rock solid.

Try pumpkin or sunflower seeds if you need to swap out the unsalted nuts. I’ve made the recipe with sunflower seeds and because they’re so little, they don’t blend quite as well. I would chop them with a knife prior to adding them to the mix.

Do they work well for lunch boxes?

Yes – these are a fabulous snack to add to any lunch for a touch of sweetness while still packing a nutrient punch.

Store them in the fridge for up to 5-7 days or in the freezer for up to three months.

Halloween Party Ideas

We’ve added a tray or two of these at our most recent Halloween parties and they were always a hit! Serve them with some other festive Halloween treats and your food is taken care of.

These make a great addition to any Halloween snack tray whether at home or school. If you need a nut free option for school swap in seeds for peanuts and sunflower seed butter for peanut butter.

Serving Suggestions

I recommend these be eaten on their own as a snack or added to a meal. We like to add them to a side of vanilla Greek yogurt, granola and some fresh fruit. Add some candied eyes to the yogurt if you want to make it a full spooky theme!
