A strawberry margarita mocktail you can make for the whole family! This refreshing and sweet drink is the perfect accompaniment to nacho night or taco Tuesday. Make this for yourself tonight or double it to enjoy with a friend!
Frozen Strawberry Margarita Mocktail Ingredients
- 2 strawberries
- 1 tsp sugar
- 0.5 oz fresh squeezed orange juice (~half an orange) (I encourage you to try Cara Cara or Blood Orange)
- 1.5 oz Non-alcoholic Tequila, I used Ritual Zero Proof (sub in Tequila or remove entirely)
- 0.5 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
- sprinkle of flaky sea salt
- crushed ice (to serve it over)
Let’s Make It
This is simple to make. Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. I prefer using an immersion blender because they’re faster to take out, use, and clean.
Pour it in a fancy glass and enjoy the luxury!
Can You Freeze It for Later
Absolutely! I recommend not adding the ritual zero proof tequila before freezing. It will stay good in the freezer for up to three months.
Variations
Explore how different oranges change the flavor of the drink. Try Cara Cara oranges, blood oranges and regular oranges. Juice can also be substituted in if needed.
As a beginner cook, don’t make the mistake of losing the orange zest! Zest the oranges you plan to use and freeze the zest to use in a future recipe.
Fresh Ingredients Vs Juice
Juice can be used but it will yield a more watery end product. Juice also has no fiber which is another reason I like to use fresh and frozen fruit instead.
Why Choose Non Alcoholic Margaritas
We know alcohol can impact our health in a variety of ways. It can still be enjoyed without ruining health but non alcoholic margaritas like this one can be more about the experience and fun and less about consuming alcohol.
Unless you’re using substitute non-alcoholic liquors, making mocktails can be more budget friendly. Different bitters, syrups and liquors can add up in price quickly! Fresh fruit or juice is cheaper and are multipurpose ingredients in the kitchen.
What Tastes Like Tequila but is Non Alcoholic
Ritual zero proof tequila is a great option if you do want to add something that tastes like tequila to a margarita mocktail. I’ve used their products for a while now and I personally have not missed the harshness and burn that comes with most liquors.
What is a regular Strawberry Margarita Made Of
Typically this will be strawberries, tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and a salt or sugar rim.
Serving Suggestions
I highly recommend enjoying this margarita in the sunshine on nacho night or with my slow cooker taco soup on your next taco Tuesday! It also pairs well with the end of the day on a summer night.
